Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our vein imaging technology
How does the vein seeker work?
Our vein seeker uses advanced infrared technology to project vein images onto the skin surface. Near-infrared light is absorbed differently by blood than surrounding tissues, allowing for clear vein visualization. The device operates at a safe 850nm wavelength with high precision.
Is it safe for patients?
Yes, completely safe! The vein seeker uses infrared light technology without any nuclear radiation. It's CE and ISO 13485 certified for clinical use and safe for patients of all ages, including children and newborns.
What skin tones does it work with?
The device features multiple color modes specifically designed to work with various skin tones, from light to dark skin. The adjustable contrast and brightness settings ensure optimal visibility regardless of skin color or lighting conditions.
How long does the battery last?
The QV-600 features a rechargeable Li-ion battery that lasts approximately 3 hours of continuous use. The QV-500 lasts about 2.5 hours. Both charge via USB-C.
How deep can it image veins?
La Vena devices can image veins up to 10 mm deep using 850nm near-infrared technology. The multi-color depth mapping helps clinicians distinguish superficial from deep vessels at a glance.
Who can use this device?
This device is designed for medical professionals including nurses, doctors, EMTs, paramedics, phlebotomists, and other healthcare workers who perform IV access or venipuncture procedures.
What's included with purchase?
